Situation:
Our team was tasked with making educational materials accessible to a blind user. The project required producing an audiobook on a tight deadline and limited budget, ruling out a traditional voice narrator due to the cost and time constraints.
Task:
In my role, I was responsible for producing a high-quality audiobook using AI voice technology. Our goal was to create an engaging, human-sounding audiobook within a short timeframe and to reduce production costs by eliminating the need for multiple takes with a professional voice narrator.
Action:
I utilizedadvanced AI voice software that could produce lifelike audio, optimizing it for natural pacing, tone, and clarity. I worked closely with the learning team to ensure the audiobook met the specific needs of our visually impaired user, conducting multiple quality checks to ensure the AI-generated voice sounded as natural as possible.
Resolution:
We delivered a professional-quality audiobook on time, meeting the accessibility needs of the user and achieving a cost-effective solution. By leveraging AI, we reduced production expenses while delivering a realistic and engaging audio experience. This project underscored our commitment to accessibility and demonstrated the potential of AI in creating inclusive content efficiently. feedback from users and stakeholders highlighted the importance of our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. Screen-readers were able to read information of all charts in order without the need of alternative text.
